Innishvilla were unable to come back from a goal
down in their match at home to league leaders Dunbar Celtic. A stiff cross-field wind in Skevanish made conditions difficult
and Innishvilla never really got into their stride in the first half. However they never gave the free scoring visitors any
real opportunities until for the second week in a row a bad offside decision cost Innishvilla a goal. A dangerous ball
that ping-ponged around in the box fell to an unmarked striker in the 6 yard box from a flick-on. The reason he was unmarked
was the Innishvilla rearguard had held their line but that went unnoticed by the ref, his resultant shot was partially saved
by Paul but the ball was scrambled over the line in the ensuing pile-up of bodies. Apart from the goal neither team threatened
to score in the first half. Into the second and the home side improved big time, winning more ball around the middle and squeezing
the visitors back into their own half by playing a high defensive line. However bar one last ditch sliding tackle on Tim Innishvilla
really failed to create anything of note bar looking dangerous on some free kicks, which there were plenty off. Dunbar getting
7 booking and 1 sending off and in my opinion that was due to the ref being lenient on them as the number of red cards could
have been much higher as every one of the bookings was for late tackles with studs showing. Some teams seem to forget that
everyone on the pitch has work the following day... The sending off came too late to have a bearing on the game and was
cancelled out but the fact that at that stage Dan was limping around after getting the brunt of at least 2 of the booking
and 4 other fouls that could have seen 4 more cards dished out... Grangevale up next week.
